1. Issuance of Admission Permit

To apply for a D-2 visa, foreign students must first be accepted by Myongji College. Once admitted, the college will issue a standard admission permit, which must be included in the visa application.

2. Visa Application Form Preparation

Complete the visa application form provided by the embassy or consulate. The application includes personal information, information about the school you are entering, and your expected date of entry.

3. Preparation of Required Documents

The following documents are required when applying for a D-2 visa:

  • Passport (must have sufficient remaining validity)
  • Standard admission permit (issued by Myongji College)
  • Visa application form
  • Photo taken within the last 6 months (usually 3.5 x 4.5cm size)
  • Financial proof (bank balance certificate)
  • Academic credentials (recent school graduation certificate or transcript, etc.)
  • Korean language proficiency certificate (if required)

4. Visa Application Submission

Submit the prepared documents to the appropriate embassy or consulate. Some embassies may require an interview as part of the application process.

5. Visa Screening and Result Notification

The embassy processes the visa application. The process usually takes about 1 to 2 months. They may ask for more documents if needed. If your visa is approved, a visa sticker will be placed in your passport.

6. Entry After Visa Receipt

After receiving the D-2 visa, you can enter South Korea. Show your visa when you arrive and go through immigration.

7. Registration and Issuance of Alien Registration Card
