There are general and military leave of absence. General leave of absence is for case of disease, work excuses, family excuse and other inevitable reasons. Military leave of absence is for joining military after receiving notice of military duty. If you can't return when leave date ends, you can apply for extension during your leave of absence. If one does not apply for return or extension before the end date, will be expelled.

Process

Required documents

  • Application for leave of absence(or extension) - Prescribed form of the college
  • Medical certificate - Leaving(extension) for disease only.
  • Notice of military duty - Leaving(extension) for military only.

General leave of absence : Leaving of disease, accident, work excuses, family or other inevitable issues.

  • Apply during registration period(1st - mid Feb, 2nd - mid Aug). Cannot apply in the middle of semester. In case of when can't take classes for longer than 4weeks due to inevitable reasons such as disease or moving to other region due for work, leave of absence can be granted by the president of the college with evidential documents. (Disease : medical certificate by general hospital of more than 4 weeks or more, Work: letter of appointment to other region)
  • Leaving period can't exceed 1year. Can apply up to 3times for 2-year-course and 4times for 3-year-course.
  • To extend your leave, apply for leave of absence extension before the end date.

Military leave of absence : n case of joining the army due to draft notice and the training call-up.

  • Student with the draft notice can apply for the leave of absence anytime during semester.If the enlistment is canceled for being sent back, apply for cancellation necessarily. If the draft notice is received during leave of absence, apply for extension is required.
  • Military leave of absence is not counted as the number of absence.

Tuition

  • Students leaving before 10 weeks of the semester are considered as registered on the returning semester.
  • Students leaving after 10 weeks of the semester are considered finished the semester since grades are approved by applying for credit approval.
  • In case of returning at your request, you can pay re-registration fee and retake the whole semester.
