Scholarship Selection Criteria

Students selected as scholarship recipients are those currently enrolled in our college who demonstrate excellent academic performance, good behavior, sound values, and serve as role models for other students. The selection criteria are as follows:

Students who have passed the rolling (Practical Skills/General High School Track) admission and the rolling (Specialized High School Track) admission (graduates from 3-year high schools) and have the highest entrance scores for each department (however, for departments that do not have a Specialized High School Track, the student with the second-highest score in the Practical Skills/General High School Track admission is selected).

Current Student Academic Excellence Scholarship Department Top Student

Awarded to the student with the highest academic achievement in each grade of the department.

  1. Previous semester average GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  2. Completion of 12 or more credits in the previous semester.
  3. If the average GPA is the same:
    1. Highest percentage score.
    2. Highest number of completed credits.
    3. Highest number of applied courses.
    4. Highest total score in the ranking report.
    5. Students with financial difficulties (based on Korea Scholarship Foundation support bracket).
    6. In order of oldest age.

Department Runner-up

Awarded to the student with the second-highest academic achievement in each grade of the department.

60% of tuition.
Academic Excellence A

Students selected according to academic ranking by the allotted number for each grade in the department (within the allocated budget).

40% of tuition.

Students selected according to academic ranking by the allotted number for each grade in the department (within the allocated budget).

20% of tuition.
Volunteer Service Scholarship Volunteer Service Scholarship A

Those elected or appointed according to the regulations of student self-governing organizations recognized by the president [President/Vice President of the Student Council, Chairman of the Student Representatives’ Council].

  1. Previous semester average GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  2. Completion of 12 or more credits in the previous semester.

Students who contribute talent and volunteer during chapel services.

Welfare Scholarship Academic Assistance Scholarship

Students belonging to the basic tier of the National Scholarship's student loan support brackets.

  1. Students whose student loan support bracket has been recognized through the National Scholarship application (Next-Highest Tier Scholarship and Welfare Scholarship A-D are paid only to those confirmed to receive the National Scholarship I type).
  2. Previous semester average GPA of 2.5 or higher, or a percentile score of 70 or higher.
  3. Completion of 12 or more credits in the previous semester.
  4. Those confirmed to receive the National Scholarship II type are excluded from payment (except for Department Welfare Scholarship).

Students recommended by the department head and lifelong faculty advisor due to financial difficulties.

Students from multicultural families who demonstrate good conduct.

Students who provide labor in on-campus administrative departments, departments, affiliated institutions, etc., and are selected based on recommendations from the heads of on-campus administrative departments, departments, and affiliated institutions.

  1. Previous semester average GPA of 2.5 or higher, or a percentile score of 70 or higher.
  2. Completion of 12 or more credits in the previous semester.

Students who excel in the basic learning ability diagnostic assessment.

Tutoring program completers.

  1. Previous semester average GPA of 4.0 or higher, or previous semester average GPA of 3.0 or higher and a tutoring course GPA of 4.0 or higher, or previous semester average GPA of 3.0 or higher and recommendation from a faculty advisor.
  2. Completion of 12 or more credits in the previous semester.

Learning Mentoring Program completers.

  • Those who have qualified for overseas cultural exploration through a prescribed selection process to actively respond to the international environment.

  • Those who have been recommended as targets for global leadership development to expand international perspectives.
  1. Previous semester average GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  2. Completion of 12 or more credits in the previous semester.

Educational protection recipients as defined by the Act on the Protection and Settlement Support of North Korean Defectors.

Foreign Student Scholarship

Students from sister universities through academic exchange agreements.

  • The person (including spouse) and direct descendants of those currently employed (including those on leave) at universities (schools) under the Myongji Academy. (However, in the case of our college staff, direct parents are also included only for the Future Convergence Department).
  • Employees or direct descendants of the Myongji Academy corporate office.
  • Staff who have worked at our college for 10 years or more and transferred to a Myongji Academy affiliate, or their direct descendants.
  • Direct descendants of staff who have worked at our college for 20 years or more and have retired (however, this includes staff and their spouses only for the Future Convergence Department). ※ Excludes short-term contract workers of less than 1 year.

Myongji Innovation Scholarship

Those who have completed the professional college innovation support project program and have excelled in participation.

※ For the first semester of entering students, "tuition fee" in the scholarship payment standards refers to the amount excluding the actual cost of the entrance fee.

※ Internal scholarships are determined and paid within the payment standards according to the financial reality. For more detailed information, please refer to the scholarship announcement board (scholarship operation guidelines, etc.).

Selection and Payment Timing of Internal Scholarship Students

  • Scholarship recipients are selected on a semester-by-semester basis before the registration period, and payment is made at the beginning of each semester unless there are special regulations and reasons.

Selection of External Scholarship Students

  • When an external scholarship organization requests a recommendation by designating the corresponding department and number of students, the president selects the scholarship recipients based on the department head's recommendation. If there is no department designation, the Director of Student Support allocates the scholarship recipients, taking into account the department-specific ratio of external scholarship students. When an external scholarship organization nominates a recipient and requests a recommendation, it shall be followed unless there are special disqualifications.
